Most of the clothes you want are not on a product page when you first see them. They are in someone else’s photo, on a screen, or walking past you. If you can get a picture of it, you can scan it.

Straight answer
what it cannot do.
It finds close matches, not guaranteed exact items. Sometimes it lands on the piece itself. More often it comes back with things that are very like it, at a range of prices, and that is genuinely the more useful answer. It cannot promise a thing is in stock, and it cannot promise a price, because both of those live with the store and change hourly.
A bad photo gets a worse answer, so a small, blurry crop of half a sleeve will struggle. And the try-on that follows shows you how something looks on you. It will not tell you your size and it cannot tell you whether a thing fits. More on accuracy
Then the other half
find it, then see it on you.
Knowing where a thing is from only answers half the question. The half that decides whether you buy it is whether it suits you, and looking at it on somebody else will never tell you that.
So Looksi carries the picture all the way through. Add two photos once, and anything you scan can go straight onto you. Put it beside the clothes you already own, in the same outfit, and see whether the new piece earns its place before you spend anything on it.
How the try-on worksscanning has its own allowance
Scans and try-ons are two separate allowances, so they never compete: a heavy week of scanning never rations your try-ons, and scanning is deliberately the more generous of the two. Both have a limit, neither is unlimited, and the numbers are set out in full in the FAQ.
